In Paris Olympics today, Manu Bhaker & Sarabjot Singh clinched Bronze in a mixed 10m air pistol shooting by defeating the South Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho 16-10. With this win, Manu etched her name in the history of Indian sports by becoming the first Indian athlete to win two medals in the same edition of the Olympics. Sarabjot, on the other hand, got his first Olympic medal. Earlier, Manu won a bronze in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event.
Shuttler P V Sindhu and wrestler Sushil Kumar are the only two Indians to have won multiple Olympic medals but in separate Olympic games.
