Northeast Monsoon likely to hit southeast peninsular India today; Heavy rain predicted in Tamil Nadu

Northeast Monsoon is likely to hit southeast peninsular India today, October 29. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in Tamil Nadu. Isolated heavy showers have also been predicted in Puducherry, Kerala and parts of Andhra Pradesh over the coming few days.
 
Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday due to a fresh Western Disturbance. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining parts of the country during the next five days.
