After a warning from the Meteorology Department of heavy to very heavy rains in Kerala this weekend, seven NDRF teams, consisting of 210 personnel, have departed from their headquarters at Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, for rescue and relief operations in Kerala. The teams, led by Deputy Commandant Sankara Pandian, have been dispatched following a request from the State Government.
