15th Urban Mobility India Conference held in Kochi, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Initiative was awarded the National First Award in the ‘City with the Best Public Transport System’ category by the Institute of Urban Transport (India) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.AIR correspondent reports that for this, the project was presented in New Delhi on the 20th of October. Following the presentation, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Initiative was presented with the award at a programme held at Bolgatti Kochi from the 4th to the 6th of November. The award was presented to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport by the Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammad Khan, and the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishore. NMMT Transport Manager Yogesh Kaduskar accepted the award.The awards are given annually by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, based on the performance of cities, metro companies, urban transport, and best projects in various 12 categories. Accordingly, award entries in the prescribed format were invited from all States, metros, railways and transport undertakings. Among them, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Transport Initiative got this nomination.
