Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan claimed that production can be increased without using chemical fertilizer in the farming. While addressing the regional consultation programme on science of natural farming in Lucknow, Mr. Chouhan added that the Central Government will start all India level awareness campaign for natural farming.
Akashwani correspondent reports that Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan appealed to the farmers to start natural farming. He added that for the initial two years production will be less hence the government will provide subsidy for the first three year for natural farming.
The Union Minister added that the government will also provide certificates to the farmers for natural farming. Farmers will also get better rates for their production. He added that our aim is to focus on fertilizer free farming, it will not only decrease the cost of farming but it will also be beneficial for health.
During his address, Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat said that natural farming and organic farming are two different things and it is important to understand this difference. He also highlighted the benefits of natural farming. He said that natural farming needs less water and it is very beneficial for farmers. He added that it is good that the government now understands the importance of natural farming.
Speaking on the occasion CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said that in Uttar Pradesh steps are being taken to promote products of natural farming. Directions have been given to all six agriculture universities to improve certification labs. CM Yogi informed that four Agriculture Universities, 89 Agriculture Science Centres and two Central Agriculture Universities have been set up in Uttar Pradesh.
