Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, most parts of Bay of Bengal. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning over Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra, Kutch, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Karnataka during next five days. Widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning is also likely over North East region, West Bengal and Sikkim during next five days. Rainfall and thunderstorms are likely at a few places over Northwest India till tomorrow. The weather department has further said that similar conditions are also likely over Jammu Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next three to four days.
On heatwave, IMD said that severe heat wave conditions in some parts over Uttar Pradesh till Monday. Heat wave conditions are very likely in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Odisha till the next three to four days. Hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over isolated pockets of Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal.
Meanwhile, IMD has predicted dust storm and thunderstorm for the next two days in Delhi. The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 41.2 degree Celsius and minimum temperature of 24.6 degree Celsius.
