Notification Issued For Election To Three Seats Of Rajya Sabha In Kerala

The notification for election to three seats of Rajya Sabha in Kerala was issued on Thursday (6th June 2024). The tenure of CPI leader Binoy Biswam, CPI (M) leader Elamaram Kareem and KC (M) leader Jose K Mani is ending on 1st July.
Notification for bypoll to one seat from Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha was also issued today. The seat has been vacant due to resignation of NCP leader Praful Patel.
Nominations can be filed for the seats in Kerala and Maharashtra till 13th of this month. Polling will be held on 25th June.
Meanwhile, nine members of the Rajya Sabha have been elected to the Lok Sabha in the recently concluded General Elections. They are Sarabananda Sonowal and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa from Assam, Vivek Thakur and Misa Bharati from Bihar, Deepender Singh Hooda from Haryana, Jyotiraditya Scindia from Madhya Pradesh, Piyush Goyal from Maharashtra, K C Venugopal from Rajasthan and Biplab Kumar Deb from Tripura.
