Ministry of External Affairs today said that India and Bangladesh are committed to deepen and strengthen their special ties. Briefing media in New Delhi, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that both sides have lots of expectations as the relationship is so friendly between the two nations. On the state visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India, Mr. Jaiswal said that agreements and MoUs will be signed between the two nations tomorrow.
On the death of Hajj pilgrims, MEA Spokesperson said that 98 Indian pilgrims have lost their lives in Hajj this year. He said, this year one lakh 75 thousand Indian pilgrims have visited Hajj. He said, Indian mission in Jeddah is providing assistance to the pilgrims.
On Khalistani activities in Canada, MEA Spokesperson said that Khalistani activities are a matter of serious concern for India. He said, India has repeatedly calling upon the government of Canada to take action. He said, political space provided to extremist anti-India elements and those advocating violence must stop and they must take action.
On the death of two Indians serving in the Russian Army, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India is engaged with the Russian authorities so that people who are serving in the Russian army can be released and repatriated to India.
Mr. Jaiswal said that a seven-member Congressional delegation visited India from 16th to 20th of this month. He said, delegation was led by the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee representative Michael McCaul. On India’s position on His Holiness Dalai Lama, Mr. Jaiswal said, Holiness Dalai Lama is a revered religious leader and is deeply respected by the people of India. He said, His Holiness is accorded due courtesies and freedom to conduct his religious and spiritual activities.
