Newly elected Members of Parliament have started arriving in New Delhi. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has made elaborate arrangements to welcome them. Steps have been taken to ensure their seamless registration. In a view to save time and use paperless digital process, the registration of the newly elected Members is being done through an online integrated software application. Special arrangements have also been made for simultaneous opening of SBI bank account, issuing of permanent Identity Card, Central Government Health Scheme Card to the newly elected Members on the spot.
Akashvani correspondent reports that Lok Sabha Secretariat has set up Guide posts at airports and railway stations in the National Capital. Transit accommodation is also being provided to members in western court annex, hostel, State and Union Territory bhawans and guest houses. Software based computerized system has been designed for allotment of transit accommodation to members. While welcoming the Members, the Lok Sabha Secretariat is providing each Member with a set of publications relating to the Constitution of India, Rules, Directions and some other useful publications in hard copies. The process of registration will remain operational till the 14th of this month including, Saturdays and Sundays.
