Congress President, Mallikarjun Kharge said that, reservations given in the constitution will remain intact along with reservations of the economically poor category during INDI alliance government. He was speaking in a press conference of INDI alliance in Mumbai on Saturday (18th May 2024). About various proposals of reservations recommended by states, he said, decisions will be taken on a case to case basis after the recommendations of respective commissions.
Mr. Kharge said, UPA government implemented a food security act in the country and INDI alliance government will provide 10 kg free grain to poor citizens and will also implement a uniform GST rate. On the issue of Vikasit Bharat, he said that, it was a congress government which had set up various important institutions and PSU’s in core sector. Other countries have copied our model. While claiming that this is a people’s election driven by the people, he expressed confidence that the INDI alliance will secure 46 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. He also reiterated some of the assurances given by Congress in poll manifesto. On the remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi statement that opposition, if voted in power, will demolish the Ram Mandir, Mr. Kharge said, Bulldozer is not in our culture. Prime minister is using such language to mislead the people.
Senior leader Sharad Pawar said, INDI alliance government will respect religious institutions of all the religions. Maharashtra’s former chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, our government will complete the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. On the issue of Prime Minister candidate of INDI alliance, Mr. Thackeray said, we have already discussed this issue in our meeting and we have various leaders for the position of Prime Minister. He also said that after 4th June INDI alliance will come into power and real ‘Acche Din’ will begin in the country.
