High-voltage campaigning is underway for the remaining phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Top leaders of major political parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader Narendra Modi held election rallies at Palamu and Gumla districts in Jharkhand this afternoon.

Mr Modi said that 25 crore people came out of poverty in the last 10 years of the NDA government. He promised that the free ration scheme which has been implemented in the country, will continue for the next five years. The Prime Minister asserted that no force on earth can stop the delivery of free ration to the poor and this is Modi’s guarantee. Mr Modi said, he has ensured that the poor get internet access, which was meant only for rich people during Congress rule. He accused the Congress of ruining tribal districts and being solely responsible for their backwardness.

Prime Minister Modi said, to date, there has not been a single allegation of corruption and scam against him and his government. He accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress leaders of amassing property worth crores of rupees through corruption for their children. Mr Modi appealed to the people to recognise the value of a single vote in democracy, which resulted in the scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir wiping out terrorism and contributing to building Ram Temple after a struggle of 500 years. He said the votes of people have helped in fulfilling the hopes of countless mothers, providing them with various facilities including Ujjawala Yojna, Mudra Yojna and Awas Yojna. He said, that in 2014, the entire world saluted the power of Indian democracy because of the votes of the people. Later in the day, Mr Modi will address a public meeting at Darbhanga in Bihar.
