Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over plains of Northwest India during next five days and heat wave conditions are likely over East and Central India during next three days. Heat wave conditions are very likely in some parts of East Uttar Pradesh during the next four days, West Uttar Pradesh during 20th to 22nd of this month, and in isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh till 22nd of this month.
Indian Meteorological Department said heat wave conditions today prevailed at most places over West Rajasthan, in some pockets over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Punjab, East Rajasthan and isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat.
Met department said heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over south Peninsular India till 23rd of this month with extremely heavy falls during the next three days. Southwest Monsoon is very likely to advance into South Andaman Sea, some parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands during next 48 hours.
