Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane Says, Self-Reliance Is Crucial For Infrastructure Development In Defence Sector

Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane has stressed that self-reliance is crucial for the infrastructure development in the defence sector as the country cannot depend on others. 
 
Addressing the inaugural session at DRDO’s National Symposium and Exhibition in New Delhi today Aramane said, Atmanirbharta is not mere a slogan, it is crucial for the economic development of the nation. He said, self reliability helps in reducing the capital cost of infrastructure. 
 
Citing the example of delayed US aid to Ukraine, Aramane said, there is no trusted friend in geopolitics, and the country could not rely on others. He also emphasized the need for innovative and technology driven equipments for the defence sector. 
 
He said, this is a first of its kind platform that will bring all the stakeholders together to discuss and bring technology driven solutions for infrastructure development. 
 

Meanwhile, DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat said, technical infrastructure is required to store explosives.
