Campaigning is in full swing for remaining sixth and seventh phases of parliamentary polls. Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi will address public meetings in Jharkhand and West Bengal today.
In Jharkhand, Mr Modi will address an election rally in Jamshedpur. BJP’s Bidyut Varan Mahto is contesting from the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat against Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s I.N.D.I.A. nominee Sameer Mohanti who is a sitting MLA from Baharagoda, legislative assembly seat. Mr. Mahto who is a sitting Lok Sabha member from Jamshedpur is seeking re-election for third consecutive term from Jamshedpur Parliamentary seat.
He will also address three public meetings in Purulia, Bishnupur and Kharagpur this afternoon.
In Punjab, the election campaign is underway in all 13 Lok Sabha constituencies. Voting in the state is to be held in the seventh and last phase on June 1st. Akashvani’s correspondent reports that rising temperature is putting hindrence in smooth conduct of campaining.
