The Indian women’s team has set a victory target of 266 runs for the South African women’s team in the first match of the three-match ODI series at the M. Chinnaswami Stadium in Bengaluru. South Africa Women were 92 for 5 after 28.2 overs when the last reports came in.

Deciding to bat first, the Harmanpreet Kaur led Women in Blue, made 265 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs against the Laura Wolvaardt led team.

India’s star opener Smriti Mandhana hit 117 runs. For the visitors, Ayabonga Khaka took 3 wickets and Masabata Klass two.
Mandhana achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 7000 international runs across all formats.  She is only behind former captain Mithali Raj, who boasts 10868 runs. Both teams are embarking on this series as a crucial step in their preparations for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in 2025.
