The Regional Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy at isolated places over Nilgiris district and Ghat areas of Coimbatore district for the next seven days. Heavy rain is also likely to occur at isolated places over Kanyakumari district and ghat areas of Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts. The weather department has said that Chennai city and neighbourhood areas may also experience light to moderate rains for the next 48 hours.
