In Gujarat, the state-level programme to celebrate International Day of Yoga is being held at Nada Bet, near the Indo-Pak border in Banaskantha district. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Cultural Activities Harsh Sanghavi will participate in the event. Around 10,000 people are likely to attend celebrations at Nada Bet. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will take part in the World Yoga Day event at Ahmedabad and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil will participate in a Yoga Day event at Surat.
The International Day of Yoga celebrations will be held at 312 prominent locations across the state including 8 municipalities, 32 districts, 251 talukas, and 20 municipalities. Gujarat Postal Circle will have unique celebrations of Yoga Day titled Yoga at Tropic of Cancer. Under the initiatives, Yoga programmes will be organized in districts situated along the Tropic of Cancer.
