The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) today moved the Delhi High Court against a trial court’s order of granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged excise policy case. The federal agency was allowed an urgent hearing of its plea seeking a stay on Kejriwal’s bail. However, the court declined the Enforcement Directorate’s plea to stay Kejriwal’s bail order for 48 hours.
Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had granted Kejriwal bail on a bond of 1 lakh rupees.
ASG SV Raju representing ED told the High Court that the trial court order has not yet been uploaded and conditions are unknown.
He also informed the court that the probe agency has not been given full opportunity to oppose the bail application. He urged the court for a stay on the order and hearing of the matter as early as possible.
