In Jammu and Kashmir, Police on Sunday arrested two suspects and recovered a consignment of arms and ammunition dropped through a drone along the International Border at Baspur Bangla in RS Pura sector of Jammu district. AIR Correspondent reports that the consignment was dropped from across the border on the intervening night of October 27 and 28 at Baspur Bangla.
Police followed certain leads and monitored movement of vehicles through CCTV footage after drone dropping and finally rounded up two suspects. The Police said they were working for a banned militant outfit. They had picked up the consignment dropped through drones. The recoveries made from their possession include four pistols with eight magazines and 47 live rounds. Worth to mention, this is the fourth cache of drone consignment recovered by Jammu Police this year. There have been repeated attempts by Pakistan to drop weapons through drones along the International Border in Jammu and Punjab sectors. A series of such attempts have been successfully thwarted by the Border Security Force.
