The Chief Electoral Office in Karnataka has commenced Special Summary revision of electoral rolls in all the 224 Assembly constituencies under direction from the Election Commission of India. Briefing the media persons in Bengaluru today, the Chief Electoral Officer in the state Manoj Kumar Meena informed that a draft electoral roll was published today and process is on to publish the final electoral roll on January 05 next year.According to the draft roll, there are over five crore 25 lakh 55 thousand registered voters in the state of Karnataka. During the revision, over 11 lakh 13 thousand voters were newly added to the list and over 27 lakh 08 thousand names of voters d. There are over 6 lakh 97 thousand young voters in the draft roll. Bengaluru South assembly constituency with over six lakh 41 thousand voters has the highest number of voters and Sringeri in Chikmagalur district has a minimum number of about one lakh 65 thousand voters. The number of polling stations have increased from 58,179 to 58,282 according to the density of the population. Mr. Meena informed that 68 percent of voters have linked their Aadhar with their EPIC card. He further said that the eligible voters can download Voter Helpline mobile app for submitting their application to register as voters. The application can also be submitted in the web portal www.nvsp.in
