The benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened on a negative note today and have quickly dropped over 3 per cent each. Sensex was at 74,294.14, down 2174.64 points or 2.84 per cent lower. Nifty was at 22,568.30, down 695.60 points or 2.99 per cent lower.
