India’s Benchmark Indices appreciated to hit their fresh record closing levels amid Foreign Fund inflows. The Sensex climbed 391 points, or 0.49 percent, to end at a new closing peak of 80,352. Nifty also rose 113 points, or 0.46 percent, to settle at a record closing high of 24,433.
In the Nifty-200 index, 179 Companies hit their 52 week high, 16 hit their 52 week low.
In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index ended up by 0.36 percent and the Small-cap index rose by 0.22 percent.
19 out of 30 companies registered gains in the Sensex index. The top three gainers were Maruti 6.6 percent, Mahendra and Mahendra 2.51 percent and ITC 2.09 percent. Conversely, the three major laggards were, Reliance 0.69 percent, Kotak Bank 0.61 percent and Bajaj Finance 0.44 percent.
In Sectoral Indices at the BSE, 15 sectors logged gains, 4 registered losses while Information Technology ended flat. The top three gainers were Auto 2.17 percent, Consumer Durables 2 percent and Realty 1.23 percent. Conversely, the 3 major laggards were Telecommunication 0.44 percent, Energy 0.14 percent and Capital Goods 0.11 percent.
The overall Market breadth at the BSE was positive. Out of 4026 Companies, the shares of 2011 companies advanced, 1922 declined and 93 remain unchanged.
