FPIs Take Cautious Approach Amid Ongoing General Elections

Adopting a cautionary stance, foreign investors infused 1,156 crore rupees in the first two trading sessions of May. As per depositories data, Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPIs) invested 1,156 crore rupees in equities and sold 1,726 crore rupees in debt this month. This came after FPIs pulled out equities worth 8,700 crore rupees in April. Before that, they made a net investment of 35,098 crore rupees in March and 1,539 crore rupees in February.

In debt markets, foreign investors put in 13,602 crore rupees in March, 22,419 crore rupees in February, 19,836 crore rupees in January.
