Boxing World Olympic Qualifiers 2024: Ankushita Boro, Nishant Dev Seal Quarterfinal Spots

In World Olympic Boxing Qualifier in Bangkok, Thailand, India’s Ankushita Boro (60kg) today entered into the Quarter Finals with 4-1 win over Kazakh pugilist. Nishant Dev (71 kg) also entered into the quarterfinals with a convincing 5-0 win over Peerapat Yeasungnoen of Thailand.
 
While Arundhati Choudhary registered a convincing victory in 66 kg weight category to reach the pre-quarter-finals.
 

Choudhary began her campaign with a clinical Round 1 against Stephanie Pieneiro of Puerto Rico. She was slightly conservative in Round 2 as she consolidated her position before again dominating the next round to get a unanimous 5:0 verdict in her favour.
 

Other Indian contender Narender Berwal (+92kg) put up a strong fight against Ecuador’s Gerlon Gilmar Congo Chala but it was not enough to advance to the next round.
