The narrative revolves around Satish, played by the versatile Santhanam, who is out to save his lover Sophia (Surabhi) from an unwanted marriage to Benny (Reddin Kingsley). The complication arises when the money he intends to return to the would-be groom’s father, the powerful don Anbarasu (Fepsi Vijayan), ends up in a haunted bungalow. What ensues is a hilarious, yet spine-tingling survival game with a ghost.
Santhanam, known for his comedic prowess, is a standout in ‘DD Returns’. His brilliant timing, rhyming, and dialogue delivery, especially in the scenes with the ghost, are a testament to his skill as a comic actor. His return to the genre after a few serious roles has been a triumph, with the exception of a few glitches in action sequences.
